Systems Business Development
Manager Europe (f/m)
Purpose of Position:
The primary role of the Manager, Systems Business Development is to drive profitable European sales growth in automated or integrated Particle Counting systems for regulatory compliance and general purpose monitoring. This job requires direct involvement in all aspects of selling and deploying system solutions for our customers, including driving the European organization with winning systems sales tactics, coordinating all necessary sales and services functions with global HACH LANGE operations and partners, and managing project implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Grow the European Systems business, year over year, of the Particle Counting Business Unit.
- Monitor and report European Systems sales performance.
- Co-manage the sales process for large systems projects with senior regional sales managers.
- Directly sell systems solutions to large accounts across the European/NAME territories, making presentations, creating proposals, helping customers develop User Requirements Specifications, and consulting on pricing/discounting decisions with regional sales managers and senior management.
- Train local sales associates (direct and distributor) on the most effective techniques and tools for increasing Systems Sales.
- Monitor the competitiveness (features/price) of total System solutions. Ensure the optimally competitive system configuration is used in each large opportunity.
- Manage the sales process for Air Particle Counter Specials (many specials relate to Systems solutions).
- Establish support for HACH / HACH LANGE systems software/instrumentation with key integration and solutions providers, and customer in-house engineering teams, in the Pharmaceutical and Electronics industry
- Provide relevant data input from European markets to the business strategy for systems solutions that considers regional regulatory, customer, channel, and integration partners needs.
- Provide input to direct the localization of commercialization efforts for total systems solutions, including brochures, presentations, software /systems demo kits, Webinars, etc.
- Provide functional requirements for instrument and software products to PM’s
- Foster close working relationships with customers, sales representatives and strategic partners.
- Manage the onsite installation, commissioning, validation and user training for Systems solutions, including managing local subcontractors and suppliers (as required).
Requirements
- Background and Skill Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in Sales or Business Development in related industry
- BS/BA degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to drive market share and sales growth
- Demonstrated technical aptitude with computers, software and networking
- Sense of urgency & good problem-solving skills
- Team player with a global perspective
- Willing to travel extensively
- Advanced technical skills and aptitude
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English; Good German language skills are desirable
- This role is located in Europe, because of good Sales opportunities in Germany, the new Manager Systems Business Development should be located in our HACH LANGE location in Düsseldorf, Germany
